1. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN SIZE BETWEEN EACH VENUE?

The capacity of Hemmens Theatre is 1198, the capacity of Schaumburg’s Prairie Center for the Arts is 465.

2. HOW LONG ARE THE CONCERTS?
Each concert program varies in length. The Classic, Pops, and Holiday concerts run approximately two hours.

3. WHAT AGE DO CHILDREN HAVE TO BE TO ATTEND?
Children over the age of 6 are welcome to attend all ESO performances. Student discounts are available for performances at the Hemmens Theatre. Student Rush Tickets are offered for $10 each, one hour prior to selected performances. Students must have valid I.D. to receive discount. Contact the ESO box office for further details. Student tickets must be purchased in person and students must bring a student ID. Also, the ESO serves the region’s youth through a variety of programs. 4. WHAT IS THE PROCESSING FEE?
The Processing Fee is charged to cover the cost of running our box office and maintaining a web site. The processing fee is $5.00 per order.

5. WHAT IS THE PARKING AVAILABILITY FOR EACH VENUE?
Safe, convenient and FREE parking at each venue. In addition to the public lots, handicapped parking is available on Symphony Way for events at the Hemmens Theatre. We also offer $10 valet parking for concerts at the Hemmens Theatre only. Ninty-minute parking is available on South Grove Avenue for visits to the Elgin Symphony Orchestra Box Office and administrative offices. There is plenty of parking in the lots surrounding the Schaumburg Praire Center for the Arts.


6. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress at Elgin Symphony Orchestra performances varies from casual to dressy. You should wear what makes you feel comfortable.

7. WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO SIT DURING THE CONCERT?
This is based on your personal preference. Both main floor and balcony seating allow excellent listening and viewing.

8. IS EACH VENUE HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE?
Yes, each venue is handicapped accessible. At the Hemmens Theatre, there is an entrance ramp at the North End of the theater, an elevator at the Northwest end of the theater for access to bathrooms, and listening devices. Please note that there is no elevator access to the balcony at the Hemmens Theatre.

9. WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE NEW 2010-2011 SEASON?
The regular concert season runs October through June. Please look at the 2010-2011 Season link for more information.

10. WHAT OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS DO YOU HAVE AT THE SYMPHONY?

Subscribe or renew your subscription online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or call the Elgin Symphony Orchestra Box Office at (847) 888-4000 to speak to a representative about subscription packages.

12. HOW DO I BECOME A DONOR?
You can support the Elgin Symphony Orchestra by donating online or contact a member of the Development Department by calling the Elgin Symphony Orchestra’s administrative office at (847) 888-0404.

13. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TICKET PRICES?
The difference in price is based upon the seating section in each venue.

14. HOW CAN WE PURCHASE TICKETS AND HOW DO WE PICK THEM UP?
Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Or call the Elgin Symphony Box Office at (847) 888-4000 to speak to a representative.

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra Box Office hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is located at 20 DuPage Court in downtown Elgin. During concert weekends only, the box office is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for phone orders only.


15. CAN I PURCHASE GIFT CERTIFICATES TO A CONCERT?
Gift certificates can be purchased by calling the Elgin Symphony Box Office at (847) 888-4000. Gift certificates must be redeemed within the season they are purchased.

16. ARE THERE EXCHANGES/REFUNDS AVAILABLE?
Exchanges are only available to subscribers and are subject to availability. There is no exchange fee for suscribers, however any difference in ticket prices will be charged. There are no refunds on subscriptions or single ticket purchases.
