The Margaret Hillis Society is dedicated to the memory of Grammy award-winning conductor, Margaret Hillis, music director of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra from 1971 to 1984. Maestra Hillis played a pivotal role in advancing the artistry and prestige of the Orchestra and her uncompromising musicianship created a legacy of outstanding achievement.
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is pleased and proud to recognize the following donors to the Margaret Hillis Society. These individuals and corporations have designated a special gift, bequest, trust or other planned giving arrangement to benefit the Elgin Symphony Orchestra’s future. By generating income from the principal, these generous gifts to the endowment fund ensure Elgin Symphony Orchestra’s artistic progress, educational programs, and operational capacity well beyond the 21st century.
