In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Elgin Symphony Orchestra was forced to cancel its annual fundraising gala that was scheduled for April of 2020. This was a heartbreaking decision, but the safety of patrons and staff came first. Throughout the summer the ESO staff has worked tirelessly with the gala committee and is excited to announce a Virtual Fundraising Gala to be held on Sunday, August 30th.
The theme of the gala is Honor the Past, Embrace the Future, and includes an online auction of local treasures and exclusive private performance experiences featuring our own ESO musicians, and a live virtual event hosted by ESO Music Director Andrew Grams.
Bidding begins on Thursday, August 27th at 8:00 am and concludes on Sunday, August 30th at 3 pm. The live event, beginning at 12 pm on Sunday, August 30, will showcase conversations with a few favorite guest artists from the past 70 seasons of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and includes an opportunity to watch Andrew Grams and Cleveland Orchestra flutist Saeran St. Christopher perform together.
