November 22, 2015 at 2:30 p.m.
Hemmens Cultural Center

Andrew Grams, conductor
Isabella Lippi, violin

Adams – Tromba Lontana
Chausson – Poème
Berlioz – Rêverie et Caprice
Sibelius – Symphony No. 2

With elegance, violinist Isabella Lippi performs Poéme in the style of a French impressionist. Layers of passionate and beautiful sound will transform the Hemmens into a panoramic view of the French countryside. Don’t miss “audience favorite” Andrew Grams conducting these ethereal pieces that will take you to another time and place.

French Connection Program Notes.

“The Sibelius Symphony, if you surrender to it, will sweep you away on a grandiose musical wave that I’m sure will leave your heart pounding.

I chose the Berlioz piece because it was on one of my favorite CDs growing up. I still remember that recording and I learned so much about this piece from it.”

“I have a fond memory of the Sibelius Symphony No. 2, particularly the last movement. I played it in my first year playing in the All State orchestra. I think I was in 7th or 8th grade. Ah the memories!”

– Andrew Grams, reminiscing his childhood.
