SAFETY PROTOCOLS –The safety of our patrons, musicians and staff has been and will be our top priority. ESO does not own its own performance space, so we will be coordinating with each rental facility regarding cleaning and sanitizing practices and the proper amount of fresh and recycled airflow in their ventilation systems. We continue to monitor best practices from reputable sources on a daily basis.  Every patron attending an ESO event during the pandemic will be notified 10-14 days prior to each event date via email, phone and/or mail of safety protocols for their upcoming event.  Safety protocols will be based on the current Restore Illinois Phase and CDC guidelines at that time and may or may not include temperature checks, health screening questions, mandatory wearing of face covering, socially distanced seating, timed arrival, restroom or concession breaks by seating area and self-parking (as examples).  We will adhere to the policies mandated by local and state health officials as they develop.  If at any time during the pandemic, you do not feel comfortable attending a concert due to safety protocols or for personal reasons, you may contact the ESO Box Office to donate your ticket value, ask for an ESO account credit or refund.

Multi Grammy Award nominee violinist Philippe Quint is internationally recognized for his unique and insightful approach to standard repertoire, championing and rediscovering neglected repertoire and embarking on imaginative, exciting journeys of explorations and collaborations with artists of different genres. “Truly phenomenal” is how BBC Music Magazine recently described him, also adding that “Quint’s tonal opulence, generously inflected with subtle portamentos, sounds like a throwback to the glory days of Fritz Kreisler.”

Mr. Quint regularly appears with major orchestras and conductors worldwide at venues ranging from the Gewandhaus in Leipzig to Carnegie Hall in New York, while making frequent guest appearances at the most prestigious festivals including Verbier, Aspen, Colmar, Hollywood Bowl and Dresden Festspiele.

Now making his home in Chicago, Philippe Quint was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now St. Petersburg, Russia), and studied at the Moscow’s Special Music School for the Gifted with the famed Russian violinist Andrei Korsakov making his orchestral debut at the age of nine. After moving to the United States, he earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Juilliard School. His distinguished pedagogues and mentors included Dorothy Delay, Cho-Liang Lin, Masao Kawasaki, Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Arnold Steinhardt and Felix Galimir.

The Chicago Tribune proclaimed, “Here is a fiddle virtuoso whose many awards are fully justified by the brilliance of his playing.” Among his many honors, Quint was the winner of the Juilliard Competition and Career Grant Recipient of Salon de Virtuosi, Bagby and Clarisse Kampel Foundations.

Philippe Quint plays the magnificent 1708 “Ruby” Antonio Stradivari violin on loan to him through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society®.
