Are you ready for the Time Warp? Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul…Jeans ‘n Classics is doing the music of Rocky Horror!!! They’ve never gone quite this theatrical before, but “It’s Astounding” how five of their vocalists channel Rocky Horror characters Magenta, Columbia, Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff, and Brad and Janet in this fun and wild symphonic rock concert, as they present the music of the iconic sci fi-comedy-horror satire.

Health and Safety
After eighteen months we are thrilled to return to the stage for an exciting 2021-2022 season! We look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy live performances with your Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
The health and safety of our musicians, staff, and you are paramount as we resume live concert experiences. As such, we have established the following policies in accordance with CDC and the State of Illinois guidelines to best protect everyone who enters the concert hall:
- Audience members must provide proof of complete vaccination for COVID-19 prior to entering the concert venue.
- Please bring your COVID-19 vaccination record to the performance (photos of both sides of the record are also accepted), as well as photo Identification.
- Patrons may choose to email photos of both sides of their vaccine record to d.prevost@elginsymphony.org prior to concert day or provide the record in person between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
- As mandated by the State of Illinois, concert attendees will be required to wear masks at all times within concert venues.
- Tickets must be purchased in advance either by phone or online. Ticket sales will not be available at the Hemmens.
- Pre-purchased tickets may be collected at Will Call on the day of the concert. (Proof of purchase will be required if tickets are purchased the day of the concert.)

Stephen Squires
Stephen Squires is a musician with a career that blends his passions for conducting, teaching, and performing. Mr. Squires has had the honor to conduct for many exceptional artists, including Frederica von Stade, Samuel Ramey, Janos Starker, Pinchas Zuckerman, Shmuel Ashkenasi, John Browning, Leon Bates, Stewart Goodyear, Richard Stoltzman, Ani Kavafian, Wendy Warner, James Tocco, Kevin Cole, Vadim Gluzman, Alexander Fiterstein, and most of the principal players of the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera Orchestras. Fully committed to conducting the music of living composers, he has premiered over one hundred new works.
Mr. Squires received his musical training at the Preparatory School of the Eastman School of Music and the Crane School of Music, in his home state of New York. He earned his graduate degree in Instrumental Conducting and Trumpet Performance at California State University, Northridge. Further conducting studies were with Helmuth Rilling, Maurice Abravanel, Daniel Lewis, Tsung Yeh, and at the Aspen Music Festival. Mr. Squires has conducted recordings for the Delos, Spring Hill (a division of EMI), MEDR, Editions de la Rue Margot, Albany, MSR Classics, and Centaur labels. Stephen Squires has enjoyed a forty-year career as a Professor of Music. He is currently Professor of Conducting in the Music Conservatory of the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University. Prior to this appointment he served on the artist faculty of the Northern Illinois School of Music, where he received the prestigious “Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.”
Mr. Squires’ current professional appointments include Resident Conductor of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of the Fox Valley Symphony (Aurora, IL), Music Director of the Millar Brass (Evanston, IL), and Music Director of the Illinois Brass Band (Arlington Heights, IL). He is the former Music Director of the Illinois Chamber Symphony. Mr. Squires has guest conducted the Chicago Symphony, the Syracuse Symphony, the Green Bay Symphony, the Columbus (OH) Symphony, the Rockford Symphony, and the Chicago Composers Orchestra. In addition, he is an accomplished recital accompanist, freelance trumpeter, and frequent guest conductor at educational festivals throughout the country.

For 24 years now, the JnC approach to combining world class rock musicians and symphonies has been a game changer for orchestras in their quest to attract new and more expansive audiences.
Jeans ’n Classics is a group of musicians who understand orchestra culture and are committed to help in the building of younger, loyal audiences for symphony orchestras across North America. Jeans ’n Classics appeals to an age group from, but not limited to, 25 to 65. While most definitely not a tribute act, Jeans ‘n Classics faithfully interprets the music of legendary rock and pop albums and artists, with their own special and signature flair.
Symphonies far and wide have heralded the quality of their orchestral scores. Their reputation precedes them for providing lush, fully realized arrangements of rock and pop classics for rock band and symphony, and top notch, easy-to-work-with performers who truly know how to deliver a great rehearsal and live show experience with professionalism, humor, and finesse. Jeans ’n Classics works with over 100 orchestras in venues throughout North America, and has created almost 1,000 original rock and pop orchestrations which are presented across 45 unique and exciting productions.
