Orchestra Auditions
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for the following positions:
Associate Concertmaster: Audition Repertoire
Audition on Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Deposit Deadline: Wednesday, August 19, 2026
Cancellation Deadline: Wednesday, August 26, 2026
Associate Concertmaster scale: $217.01 per service
Principal Flute: Audition Repertoire
Audition on Monday and Tuesday, October 19 & 20, 2026
***PLEASE NOTE: Only and all preliminary rounds will take place on October 19. Only and all final rounds will take place on October 20. Applying candidates must be available for both days to receive an audition time.
Deposit Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026

Additional Information About Positions
The 2026–2027 season runs from September through May, during which the ESO will produce equal to or greater than the contractual minimum of 54 services.
As a condition of employment, the winning candidate must become a member of Local #10-208, Chicago Federation of Musicians by the 30th day of employment.

To apply, please email your resume to auditions@elginsymphony.org and submit a $50.00 audition deposit by the deadline listed above to secure your audition time.
Checks should be made payable to Elgin Symphony Orchestra in U.S. dollars. Deposit checks will be returned at the audition or destroyed upon request. Please include your name and instrument on the memo line and mail your check to:

A confirmation email with the audition booklet, location, and audition block will be sent once your resume and deposit have been received.
All auditions will take place in person and are entirely behind a screen.
