The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is giving away pairs of subscriptions to its 76th Season to people who haven’t attended an ESO concert (since 2020).

Jaimie Abney-Giraldo will receive the ESO’s Educator of the Year Award at the ESO’s Saturday, May 3, 2025, 7:30 p.m. concert.

Violinist Samuel Vargas will perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra on April 5 and 6, 2025.

Donor Spotlight: Mally Miceli has long been involved in the Elgin arts scene as a devoted attendee and supporter. We asked her about her involvement with the ESO and why the Orchestra is special to her.

Mark Kuntz, cellist, was barely a teenager when he joined the Elgin Civic Symphony Orchestra in the 1950s. He’s the only ESO musician to have performed with all five of the ESO’s music directors.

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will present The Chicago Bandura Ensemble in a concert honoring the resilience and culture of the Ukrainian people. “Melodies of Resilience” will be held at 3 p.m. at Journey of Hope United Methodist Church, 37W040 W Highland Avenue in Elgin, Ill.

$25,000 Challenge Gift Announced

Longtime ESO volunteer Lois Myers-Bauer was named Volunteer of the Year at the ESO’s Fanfare Gala on Sunday, May 19.

Violinist Joseph Malmquist, a member of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra since 1981 and a career music educator, has been named the ESO’s 2024 Educator of the Year.

Additional music has been added to the 75th Season Classics Series.
