ESO, Chad Goodman receive Illinois Council of Orchestra Awards
Music Director Chad Goodman and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
We are excited to announce that your Elgin Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Chad Goodman have been recognized for exceptional achievement by the Illinois Council of Orchestras. The ICO today announced the ESO has been chosen as the recipient of its Professional Orchestra of the Year award and that Chad has been named Conductor of the Year.
“It’s an incredible honor to have these two awards presented in the same year as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary,” said Marc Thayer, CEO of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. “We very much appreciate the ICO as well as all the people at the Elgin Symphony that made this a reality. This award is a result of the dedication and commitment of our Music Director Chad Goodman, and the staff, board of directors, volunteers, and patrons that have been with us for so many years.”
Chad, who will lead the ESO into its 76th season this fall – his third with the Symphony – said, “I’m deeply honored for this recognition, and even more proud to share it with my incredible fellow musicians of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, named Orchestra of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras. These honors reflect the extraordinary talent and dedication of every musician, as well as the tireless support of our board and staff. Most of all, they speak to the inspiring way our community has embraced and collaborated with us.”
