Become an ESO Volunteer Usher

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is seeking volunteers with a passion for assisting patrons at our concerts. ESO ushers welcome ticket holders to ESO concerts at the Hemmens Cultural Center, scan tickets, help ticket holders locate their seats, and distribute concert programs.

Experience with the performing arts and working with the public are preferred, but basic training is provided. An orientation session will be held in mid-September.

Ushers should be able to stand for extended periods of time; the volunteer commitment is three-and-one-half hours per concert. Ushers may volunteer for one or several concerts. Ushers who complete a minimum of two concerts during the ESO season may request up to four complimentary tickets to an ESO concert.
